Pakistan will host South Africa in a two-Test series starting October 12 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, marking the first time since the ICC World Test Championship began in 2019 that Pakistan has opened a cycle at home.
The series kicks off the 2025–27 WTC cycle, with the second Test in Rawalpindi from October 20–24.
The two teams have played 30 Tests, with South Africa winning 17, Pakistan six, and seven draws.
Both sides have won two of their four WTC matches.
The Tests will be followed by six white-ball games.
Key players include Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Hasan Ali for Pakistan, while South Africa’s Aiden Markram highlighted the challenge of adapting to local conditions.
