Odisha approves ₹1,600 crore sanitation plan for 2025–2030, integrating waste management and boosting urban services.
The Odisha government has approved a ₹1,600 crore, five-year Swachha Odisha scheme to improve urban sanitation from 2025–26 to 2029–30, integrating solid waste, liquid waste, and septage management under one framework to boost efficiency and coordination.
Led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the initiative aims to strengthen urban local bodies, enhance service coverage, and support the national Swachh Bharat Mission.
The cabinet also approved 15 other proposals, including a ₹163 crore plan to provide free textbooks for students in government, aided, and private unaided schools for the 2026–27 academic year.
