Greta Thunberg’s Gaza flotilla emitted 165 tons of CO2, equivalent to 206 London-Tel Aviv flights, a new study says.
A new study by Israeli solar company Volta Solar estimates that Greta Thunberg’s Gaza-bound Sumud Flotilla emitted about 165 tons of carbon dioxide over five weeks, fueled by more than 14,000 gallons of diesel.
The emissions match those from roughly 206 round-trip flights between Tel Aviv and London.
The report, released in October 2025, focuses solely on the environmental impact of the diesel-powered vessels, noting the contrast with Thunberg’s climate advocacy, without commenting on the flotilla’s political or humanitarian goals.
