10-year-old Tommy Andrews won junior champion at Australia’s National Campdraft Championships, with his dad David placing second in the open division.
The Andrews family from Rouchel, NSW, celebrated a major win at Australia’s National Final Campdraft Championships, with 10-year-old Tommy Andrews claiming junior champion honors and his father David finishing second in the open draft.
Tommy rode Tommy Boy, a 22-year-old horse David originally trained, while David also placed second riding Hotpiece, a mare owned by Ken and Beryl McCarthy but trained by him.
The event, drawing competitors from across Australia, featured over 2,200 runs.
The campdraft season continues in the Hunter region, though the Singleton Campdraft was canceled due to livestock shortages.
