UK warns travelers about severe Spanish weather and new EU border rules starting Oct. 12.
The UK FCDO has issued a travel warning for Spain, urging British travellers to exercise caution due to severe weather in Murcia, Valencia, and Alicante, which may cause travel disruptions.
The alert, updated October 10, 2025, advises following local guidance and monitoring weather updates.
It coincides with the rollout of the EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES) on October 12, requiring UK visitors to provide biometric data—fingerprints and facial images—at each border crossing.
No pre-departure registration is needed, but travellers should expect longer queues at airports and border checkpoints.
The warning applies to all UK nationals visiting Schengen countries and remains in effect until further notice.
