Tanzania hosted the UNFCCC’s AI for Climate Action Forum 2025 in Dar es Salaam, becoming the first nation to hold the event, with over 200 experts discussing how AI can combat climate change.
The forum emphasized the need for Africa to develop homegrown AI technologies tailored to local challenges, addressing barriers like poor digital infrastructure, limited climate data, and funding gaps.
