A short film about a foster child’s transformation is being shared to recruit more UK foster carers.
Wiltshire Council has released the short film *The Run*, depicting an 11-year-old boy’s journey toward confidence and stability after being placed with a foster family, to encourage more people to become foster carers.
The film, shared by over 90 UK local authorities, highlights the positive impact of safe, supportive homes.
Councillor Jon Hubbard urged individuals aged 21 and over with a spare bedroom—sometimes using their own for infants under 12 months—to consider fostering, noting weekly payments range from £410 to £760 per child.
An online drop-in session is set for October 11, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with additional details available at fosterwithyourlocalcouncil.org or via the council’s recruitment team.
