A Salem woman sentenced to 32 years for abusing a child for nearly a decade, violating Oregon’s Jessica’s Law.
A 41-year-old Salem, Oregon woman, Monica Weber, has been sentenced to 32 years in prison and lifetime supervision after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a child over nearly a decade, starting when the victim was seven.
She held a position of authority over the child and shared abuse photos with men online.
The case, prosecuted by Deputy District Attorneys Meghan Kamps and Katharine Semple, involved charges including first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and encouraging child sexual abuse.
Oregon’s “Jessica’s Law” mandated a minimum 25-year sentence due to the victim being under 12 at the time of some offenses.
The victim, initially hesitant, came forward with help from Liberty House and Marion County Sheriff’s Office Detective Scott Diehl.
