flag Pistachios from Brampton and Ottawa are recalled over salmonella risk, linked to over 100 illnesses.

Pistachios sold in Brampton and Ottawa have been recalled due to possible salmonella contamination, linked to an outbreak that has sickened over 100 people and led to 16 hospitalizations. The recall includes bulk pistachios from Moonlight Grocers in Brampton (May 27–June 26) and Barrhaven Market Organic Pistachio Kernels sold in Nepean up to October 5, though the latter is not connected to the outbreak. Canada has temporarily banned pistachio imports from Iran. The CFIA urges consumers not to consume, sell, or distribute recalled products and to check for updates on the CFIA or Health Canada websites. Additional recalls for other food and consumer items have also been issued.
