Malaysia’s 2026 budget, unveiled by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, allocates RM5.9 billion to boost artificial intelligence development, including a 50% tax deduction for SMEs on AI and cybersecurity training.
The plan aims to enhance digital capabilities, support local innovation, and position Malaysia as an AI leader by 2030.
Additional funding includes RM6 billion for Bumiputera education, RM46.5 billion for health, RM64.2 billion for education, and RM13 billion for road upgrades.
