A cheap Spanish rosé from Aldi went viral after a critic mocked it, causing it to sell out despite the backlash.
A Spanish rosé from Aldi’s new autumn winter range, Specially Selected Cigales Rosado, has gone viral after wine expert Helen McGinn jokingly called it “horrible” on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, sparking a surge in demand. Despite her comment, the £8.99 wine, praised for its crisp, dry taste and notes of rosehip, cranberry, and grapefruit, has sold out in many stores. Also part of the range is a £9.99 Méthode Cap Classique sparkling wine made in South Africa using traditional methods, offering flavors of apple, lime, brioche, and red berries. Both wines are available while supplies last.
