Bharti Telecom, parent of Bharti Airtel, is launching a ₹15,000 crore ($1.7 billion) bond offering next week, the largest of India’s current fiscal year.
The two-tranche issue, with maturities of two years and three years two months, carries coupon rates of 7.35% and 7.45%, marking the company’s cheapest bond sale in four years.
The move follows a 100-basis-point RBI rate cut and a CRISIL AAA credit upgrade.
Proceeds will refinance upcoming debt and fund capital expenditures.
Mutual funds are expected to be major investors, with interest from foreign and private banks.
The offering surpasses its November 2024 bond sale of ₹11,150 crore.
