Assistant principal Jerome Younger charged with assaulting former student at his home on Oct. 9, 2025.
Jerome Younger, 54, an assistant principal at Detroit’s Edward "Duke" Ellington Conservatory, was charged with first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct after allegedly assaulting a minor at his home on October 9, 2025.
The victim, a former student he mentored for seven years, is a Detroit Public Schools student.
Younger, who resides in Roseville, was arraigned on October 9, released on a $250,000 cash bond with a tether requirement, and prohibited from contacting the victim.
He has denied the allegations.
The Detroit Public Schools Community District placed him on administrative leave and barred him from school property.
The case is under investigation by Macomb County prosecutors, with a next court date set for October 22.
