Amazon’s Project Kuiper to launch satellite internet in Pakistan by late 2026, aiming to expand high-speed connectivity to remote areas.
Amazon’s Project Kuiper plans to launch satellite broadband services in Pakistan by late 2026, the Ministry of Information Technology said, following talks between the federal IT minister and company representatives.
The initiative, part of a global effort, will use up to 3,236 Low Earth Orbit satellites to deliver high-speed internet—up to 400 Mbps—through affordable terminals, targeting remote and underserved areas.
Ground infrastructure, including gateways and points of presence, will be established to support connectivity.
The project aligns with Pakistan’s “Digital Nation Pakistan” vision, aiming to boost digital inclusion, support the IT and digital export sectors, and improve access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
