An 18-year-old Australian with autism faces children’s court after being denied bail for posting ISIS threats, propaganda, and possessing weapons.
An 18-year-old Australian teen accused of posting Islamic State propaganda, threatening a synagogue with violence, and possessing weapons has been denied bail.
Authorities say he sent a threatening email from "Adolf Hitler" to a Melbourne synagogue, posted execution videos on Instagram, and had knives, machetes, and extremist content on his devices.
Despite his autism and mental health conditions, a judge ruled he poses an unacceptable risk to public safety due to his online radicalization, past non-compliance with bail, and impulsive behavior.
The case will move to children’s court.
