A suspect in the Oct. 5 killing of Maurisha Singletary was shot dead in D.C. during a warrant raid.

A man wanted in connection with the October 5 killing of 33-year-old Maurisha Singletary was shot and killed Thursday morning in a gunfire exchange with the U.S. Marshals Service-led Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force during a warrant service in a Washington, D.C., apartment building. The suspect, believed to have been in a relationship with the victim, opened fire after officers breached the door, leading to his death. No officers were injured, and a firearm was recovered. The Metropolitan Police Department is leading the investigation, which remains ongoing, with oversight from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for D.C.
