The six-month timeline, set by the amended Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, is nearly expired, with only one month remaining. The petition, filed by AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, argues the timeframe is insufficient for compliance. The court, led by Chief Justice BR Gavai, noted the application without indicating approval. It had previously upheld most provisions of the Act, including the removal of the Waqf-by-user clause, and dismissed concerns about government seizure of Waqf lands.
