Prince Harry urged American men to confront mental health stigma, citing alarming stats on premature deaths and urging safer spaces for support.
Prince Harry, speaking at a Movember event in New York, urged American men to break their silence on mental health, warning that stigma and isolation are contributing to a crisis.
He highlighted findings from the Movember Institute of Men’s Health report showing 53% of U.S. men die before age 75, with men more than twice as likely as women to die from accidents and drug overdoses, and 3.6 times more likely to die by suicide.
Harry emphasized that social media often replaces real-life mentors, increasing feelings of powerlessness, especially among men aged 18 to 34, over one in four of whom reported mental health struggles in the past year.
He called for more safe spaces to seek help and stressed that normalizing vulnerability is essential to saving lives.
El Príncipe Harry instó a los hombres estadounidenses a enfrentar el estigma de la salud mental, citando estadísticas alarmantes sobre muertes prematuras e instando a espacios más seguros para recibir apoyo.
