OU NROTC midshipmen began a 200-mile run to Dallas, mirroring UT’s run, to honor the Red River Rivalry.
The University of Oklahoma’s NROTC launched its 28th annual Run to Dallas on October 8, 2025, with midshipmen beginning a 200-mile relay from Norman to the Cotton Bowl.
Led by head coach Brent Venables handing the game ball to the NROTC Battalion Commander, the run featured rotating shifts with at least two runners on the road at all times.
The event, mirroring a similar run by the University of Texas NROTC, concludes with both battalions presenting their game balls ahead of the Red River Rivalry football game, symbolizing unity, service, and sportsmanship between the rivals.
