A mob of 40 masked people harassed Justice Minister Naomi Long’s family at her Belfast home, sparking widespread condemnation.
A mob of about 40 masked individuals gathered outside the East Belfast home of Justice Minister Naomi Long on October 8, 2025, disrupting her family and neighbors for roughly 90 minutes.
Long condemned the event as bullying and intimidation, calling it a “line crossed” and not legitimate protest, despite her decades of open political engagement.
Her husband said the protest may have been linked to concerns over sex offenders in residential areas.
The PSNI responded, remained outside the home overnight, and are reviewing footage to determine if offenses were committed.
Political leaders across Northern Ireland universally denounced the incident, stressing that targeting elected officials’ homes is unacceptable and undermines democracy.
