Lakmé Fashion Week 2025 kicked off in New Delhi on October 8, marking its 25th anniversary with a celebration of Indian craftsmanship and innovation.
The opening day featured collections from designers like Anavila Misra, Gaurav Jai Gupta’s Akaaro, and The Edit, showcasing traditional techniques such as handloom weaving, ikat, Shibori, and Kutch embroidery reimagined in modern silhouettes.
The NIF Global “The Runway” show highlighted emerging talent through the theme “Reimagined Heirlooms,” blending heritage crafts with contemporary design.
Palak Tiwari stood out as the showstopper, embodying the fusion of tradition and modernity.
The five-day event, hosted by the FDCI and Lakme, will feature over 100 designers, with Tarun Tahiliani closing the finale on October 12.
