GEDU Global Education to invest £200M in India, opening UK-style schools and campuses.
GEDU Global Education, a UK-based company, plans to invest £200 million in India over the next three years, becoming the largest foreign direct investor in the country’s education sector.
The expansion includes opening a branch of Queen Elizabeth’s School in the National Capital Region in August 2026, with a second school by 2028, and developing GEDU Global Education City to host UK university campuses.
This follows a prior £25 million investment in GIFT City and Uttar Pradesh.
The move, announced during UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s visit, underscores growing UK-India economic ties, supported by the UK-India Free Trade Agreement, and aims to boost access to UK-standard education in India.
