Australian artists release "Homeless" to support homeless women, aiming to raise $1M for Mission Australia.
Australian musicians have released the song "Homeless" to support homeless women, coinciding with World Homeless Day.
Created by 15 Stand Up Singers and 35 other singers, the track, produced with composer Paul Jarman and inspired by a personal encounter and a workshop led by clinical doctor Gillian Eastgate, carries the message “Stand up, speak up, don’t give up the fight.” It aims to raise $1 million for Mission Australia.
Women are the fastest-growing group facing homelessness, with nearly 3,000 women and children accessing emergency housing in NSW’s Hunter region over five years—many fleeing domestic violence or living in cars.
Domestic violence is the top cause for younger women, while financial stress threatens over 405,000 older women.
The song launches October 10, 2025.
