Andhra Pradesh approves BPCL’s $12.5B refinery project with major incentives, set for 2029.
The Andhra Pradesh government has approved BPCL’s plan to build a ₹96,862 crore greenfield refinery and petrochemical complex on 6,000 acres near Ramayyapatnam Port, with a capacity of 9 to 12 million metric tons per year.
The project, set to begin operations by January 2029, will receive up to 75% capital incentives, including a 43.5% subsidy and full GST refunds.
BPCL will invest ₹4,843 crore in FY25, rising to ₹38,745 crore by 2030, and create about 3,400 construction and 3,750 operational jobs.
It requires 600 MW of power, with 100 MW generated on-site.
A public hearing and environmental clearance are pending, and a high-level committee will monitor progress.
