A 19-year-old man, linked by DNA to a vehicle used in a December 2024 gang rape of a 17-year-old girl across Sydney, appeared in court on bail.

A 19-year-old man, Adam Abdul-Hamid, appeared in Sydney court wearing a mask and sunglasses during his first in-person appearance since being granted bail in September. He is one of four teenagers accused in a six-hour alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old girl in December 2024, involving multiple locations across Sydney. Prosecutors say DNA found in a vehicle used during the incident links Abdul-Hamid to the crime, though he is not accused of directly assaulting the victim. According to police, the girl was approached at a shopping center, taken to a park, and assaulted by multiple males as she was driven around. Abdul-Hamid reportedly declined to participate when asked, saying “No, I’m all right.” He was initially denied bail in June but had the decision overturned in September.
