A widow sues SP Energy Networks over her husband’s 2022 fatal electrocution due to neglected safety hazards.
A widow is pursuing civil legal action against SP Energy Networks after her husband, 35-year-old gardener Blair Campbell, was fatally electrocuted on October 3, 2022, while pruning hedges in Mobberley, Cheshire.
The accident occurred when he cut through a live wire on a pole-mounted substation obscured by dense ivy that had concealed warning signs.
An inquest found multiple prior reports about the overgrown vegetation had been ignored.
Campbell, who moved from New Zealand and founded his own business in 2020, died despite being airlifted to hospital.
His widow, Tina Campbell, says she has received no apology or compensation from the company, which has since updated its safety protocols.
She plans to seek damages for her husband’s avoidable death.
