Sembcorp India buys a 300-MW solar project from ReNew for $191M, boosting its renewable capacity to 6.9 GW.
Sembcorp Industries’ Indian unit has agreed to buy a 300-megawatt solar project in Rajasthan from ReNew Energy for about $191 million, expanding its Indian renewable capacity to 6.9 gigawatts.
The project, operational since November 2021 and linked to India’s national grid, is under a 25-year power purchase agreement with a Maharashtra utility.
The deal, pending regulatory approval, is expected to close in early 2026 and will be funded through internal cash and borrowing.
This marks Sembcorp’s third renewable acquisition in India over three years.
