Rick Kowalsky, a former ECHL Hall of Fame player and veteran coach, has returned to Portland as head coach and general manager of the Maine Mariners, marking his first season in the role after a 25-year absence.
Taking over from Terrence Wallin, Kowalsky brings over 15 years of coaching experience from the ECHL and AHL, including stints with the Trenton Titans, Albany Devils, and Bridgeport Islanders.
He’s focused on balancing player development with competitiveness, emphasizing intense, detail-oriented practices and working with director Brad Staubitz to enhance skill training.
