Philippines' unemployment fell to 3.9% in August 2025, with employment rising to 50.1 million.
The Philippines' unemployment rate dropped to 3.9% in August 2025, down from 5.3% in July and slightly below the 4% rate in August 2024, with 2.03 million Filipinos unemployed, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.
The employment rate rose to 96.1%, and overall employment reached 50.10 million, up 950,000 from a year earlier.
While the services sector remained the largest employer, job losses occurred in wholesale and retail trade, public administration, and education.
Underemployment also declined to 10.7%, and the labor force participation rate increased to 65.1%.
