A new national Nurse Practitioner Training Support Scheme in New Zealand will support 180 registered nurses annually over three years as they complete their Master of Nursing practicum, with 120 spots for primary and community care and 60 for specialist areas like mental health and emergency care.
Led by ProCare and a consortium of six primary health organizations, the program provides funding, mentoring, clinical supervision, and employer support to help nurses advance their careers while maintaining patient care.
Open to eligible nurses nationwide, applications are now available online and aim to strengthen the healthcare workforce, improve access to care, and promote culturally responsive training.
