Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat suspended one year for missing weight at 2025 Worlds.
Aman Sehrawat, India's Olympic bronze medalist in wrestling, has been suspended for one year by the Wrestling Federation of India after failing to make weight at the 2025 World Championships in Zagreb, where he exceeded the 57 kg limit by 1.7 kg.
The suspension, effective September 23, bars him from all national and international competitions until September 2026.
The WFI cited "unsatisfactory" responses to a show-cause notice and noted he had 18 days at a preparatory camp to meet weight requirements.
His coach and staff received formal warnings.
This marks the third recent weight-related disciplinary case involving Indian wrestlers, following issues with Vinesh Phogat and Neha Sangwan.
The ban may affect his readiness for the 2026 Asian Games.
