India unveiled its restored first indigenous aircraft, the HT-2, during Air Force Day 2025.
The Indian Air Force unveiled its restored Hindustan Trainer-2, India’s first indigenously built aircraft, for the first time during the 93rd Air Force Day on October 8, 2025, in Ghaziabad.
The HT-2, which served as a primary trainer from the 1950s to 1989, was inducted into the Heritage Flight at Hindon Air Base in December 2024.
It flew alongside the Tiger Moth and Harvard in a historic formation, performing aerobatic maneuvers.
The Heritage Flight, based at Hindan Air Base since 2012, also includes the Dakota and continues to honor IAF history through national events.
A 1967 Ford Saloon, used by Air Chiefs during the 1971 war, was also displayed.
