Google has expanded its AI Mode in India to seven new languages—Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu—using a custom Gemini model to deliver context-aware, conversational responses.
The update, launching October 8, 2025, makes advanced AI search accessible to millions beyond English and Hindi speakers.
Alongside this, Google introduced 'Search Live,' a new feature enabling voice and camera-based interactions for real-time assistance, such as identifying ingredients or aiding with schoolwork.
Initially available in English and Hindi, Search Live is being rolled out first in India, accessible via the Google app or Google Lens.
