Florida bill would name college roads after slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk or risk losing state funding.
Florida state Representative Kevin Steele has introduced House Bill 113, which would require all public colleges and universities in the state to rename at least one campus roadway in honor of Charlie Kirk, the late conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, who was fatally shot in September.
The bill, which threatens to withhold state funding from institutions that do not comply, has drawn mixed reactions, with some students supporting the tribute and others calling it excessive.
The legislation is under consideration.
