Dewy White found a 2.71-carat diamond at Arkansas’s Crater of Diamonds State Park, the fourth-largest of 2025.
On October 2, 2025, Dewy White from Paoli, Indiana, discovered a 2.71-carat white diamond at Arkansas’s Crater of Diamonds State Park during a road trip with his wife.
After searching for five days, he found the stone while dry sifting soil near the south wash pavilion, naming it the "Hope Diamond" in honor of his hopes for a find.
Park staff confirmed the diamond, which is the fourth-largest registered at the park in 2025.
The park, the only public diamond mine in the U.S., has seen over 400 diamonds found this year, including several over two carats.
