The Community Foundation for Kingston & Area announced a $1.5 million, multi-year grant initiative on October 7, 2025, the largest in its history, funded by the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul Community Impact Fund.
The grants support four community-driven projects tackling isolation, loneliness, and resilience among children, youth, and older adults.
Key initiatives include the HIPPY program, which provides peer-supported home visits to families with young children in newcomer, Indigenous, and low-income communities, and the Collaborative Care Initiative, linking schools and health services to support students with emotional and behavioral needs.
Projects were selected through a community-partnered process and will operate over multiple years to allow for development and evaluation.
