A service lift collapsed at RKM Powergen Pvt Ltd in Ucchpinda village, Chhattisgarh, killing four workers and injuring six others late Tuesday night. Ten workers were descending after their shift when the lift, with a 2,000 kg capacity, suddenly plummeted from a significant height. All were taken to Jindal Fortis Hospital in Raigarh, where four died. The lift had undergone maintenance on September 29. Authorities have filed a case and launched an investigation into the cause, with preliminary reports suggesting possible mechanical or maintenance failures.
