Chile approves Puquios copper project expansion, extending waste dump life to 15 years without new environmental review.
Chile’s Environmental Assessment Service has approved an expansion of the waste dump at Camino Minerals’ Puquios copper project, extending its lifespan to 15 years without a new Environmental Impact Assessment.
The approval supports efforts to secure project financing, with ongoing talks with Japanese lenders.
Camino-Nittetsu JV will begin contingent payments to vendors affiliated with Denham Capital, who agreed to defer half of the first three payments until March 2026 in exchange for a CAD$750,000 payment by Camino.
Deferred payments may be settled in cash or Camino shares.
The company also granted 2.25 million stock options to executives and employees, exercisable at $0.30 per share until 2030, and plans to issue 443,250 shares as a finder’s fee to Resource Play for a prior earn-in agreement, pending TSXV approval.
Exploration drilling is expected to begin soon at the Los Chapitos project in Peru.
