The La Crescent Planning Commission has recommended approval for Carbon Cannabis to build a new cultivation and manufacturing facility in the city’s eastern business park, pending final city council approval on October 13.
The leased, remodeled building will include odor control, closed-loop extraction, and 24-hour security, and will produce full-THC cannabis products for wholesale distribution to licensed retailers, not direct consumer sales.
The facility, located near an upcoming cannabis retailer, will allow Carbon Cannabis to expand beyond its current hemp-only operations in La Crosse, Minnesota.
The company expects to hire up to 10 employees and begin operations in early 2026, pending state licensing.
Minnesota law requires third-party licensed carriers for deliveries.
