flag A U.S. court dismissed a lawsuit against Neil Gaiman over alleged sexual abuse in New Zealand, citing jurisdiction.

A U.S. federal court has dismissed a sexual assault lawsuit against author Neil Gaiman, ruling that New Zealand is the proper jurisdiction due to all key events, evidence, and witnesses being located there. The case was filed by Scarlett Pavlovich, a New Zealand citizen, who alleged repeated sexual abuse while working as a live-in nanny on Waiheke Island between 2020 and 2023. The dismissal was without prejudice, allowing her to refile in New Zealand. Gaiman, who denies the allegations, called them a "sham," and both he and his estranged wife Amanda Palmer have agreed to accept service in New Zealand. Seven other women have made similar accusations since 2023.
