Thirty Bob Ross paintings will be auctioned to raise $850K–$1.4M for rural public TV stations hit by federal funding cuts.
Thirty paintings by late artist and TV host Bob Ross are set to be auctioned starting November 11, with proceeds supporting small and rural public television stations strained by a $1.1 billion federal funding cut.
The auction, managed by Bonhams in multiple cities and online, aims to raise $850,000 to $1.4 million for stations that license popular programs like "The Joy of Painting," "America’s Test Kitchen," and "This Old House."
The 30 works, featuring Ross’s signature serene landscapes, were created during his 11-year run on the show and often painted live on air.
All funds will help offset lost licensing revenue and prevent staff cuts and programming reductions.
