Saudi man trained in al Qaeda camps post-9/11, linked to extremist network.
Spin Ghul, a Saudi national formerly known as Adnan Harun Adam, was trained in weapons and combat tactics at al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan, including Camp Nine, where he adopted his alias.
He received instruction in AK-74 rifles, SKS carbines, machine guns, mines, and mortars, and was transferred through safe houses in Kabul and Angoor Ada.
His training was overseen by senior operatives like Abdul Wakil al-Masri and Abdul Hadi al-Iraqi amid al Qaeda’s reorganization following the U.S. bombing campaign that began October 7, 2001.
The case highlights the global reach of extremist networks and the radicalization pathways involving online propaganda, personal alienation, and militant indoctrination.
