Rajat Patidar, 32, has been named captain of Madhya Pradesh for all domestic formats starting in the 2025-26 season, succeeding Shubham Sharma.
The appointment follows his leadership of Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their first IPL title in 18 years and key performances in the Duleep Trophy, where he scored 382 runs at 76.40 with two centuries.
He also captained Central Zone to victory and Rest of India in the Irani Cup.
In the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy, he amassed 529 runs in 11 innings, including a century, and has over 5,000 first-class runs with 15 centuries.
Madhya Pradesh’s season begins October 15 against Punjab.
