A nationwide Indian mediation drive from July to September 2025 reduced case backlogs, settling thousands of cases through online and in-person sessions.
A nationwide "Mediation for the Nation" campaign from July 1 to September 30, 2025, led by NALSA and the Supreme Court’s Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee, significantly reduced case backlogs across India.
In Delhi, 28,141 cases were referred to mediation, resulting in 4,316 settlements, while the Punjab and Haryana High Court resolved 194 cases, and Tamil Nadu’s mediation center settled 1,361 out of 25,584 referred cases.
The initiative, supported by top judicial leadership, used online, hybrid, and in-person sessions, public outreach, and targeted follow-ups to promote alternative dispute resolution, marking a major step toward faster justice and improved judicial efficiency.
