Mercedes-Benz Vans begins pre-production of the 2026 VLE electric luxury van in Spain, with a 500km range and new tech, replacing the EQV.
Mercedes-Benz Vans has started pre-series production of the 2026 VLE electric luxury people mover at its Vitoria, Spain plant, set to debut in early 2026 as a replacement for the EQV. Built on a new 800V VAN.EA platform, the VLE offers up to 500km of range, front- or all-wheel drive, and features the new MB.OS infotainment system. Inspired by the Vision V concept, it combines limousine comfort with MPV versatility, seating up to eight. The Vitoria plant is now net carbon-neutral, using solar, geothermal, and waste heat recovery systems, with over 90% of upgrades complete and 5,000 employees trained. A future combustion-engine version will follow on a new VAN.CA platform at the same site.
