Khushtech Korea’s India-made D2M phone, using TV bands for internet-free media and UPI, begins full production in Oct 2025, targeting rural users.
Khushtech Korea has secured BIS certification for its India-made D2M feature phone, enabling full-scale production to start in October 2025 at a new factory in Andhra Pradesh. The phone, developed with India’s Tejas Network and Saankhya Labs, uses terrestrial TV bands to deliver live TV, OTT content, audio, and text without internet. Targeting rural and low-income users, it aims to replace over half of India’s 300 million feature phones and supports UPI payments. The company plans $100 million in investment, with $80 million over five years, and will market through e-commerce and offline networks in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Khushtech claims to be the world’s first to commercialize D2M phones.
