Former sheriff's deputy Christopher Duke arrested for DUI after speeding stop, fired immediately.
Christopher Duke, a 45-year-old former Richland County Sheriff’s Department major, was arrested on October 4, 2025, for driving under the influence after a traffic stop for speeding.
The incident occurred while he was off-duty and operating his personal vehicle.
Authorities detected signs of impairment, leading to his arrest and booking at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Duke, who had served the department for 22 years, was immediately suspended without pay and terminated following the arrest.
