Harrison Gale, an 11-year-old from west London, is recovering after life-saving treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital for a rare brain condition involving tangled blood vessels, initially mistaken for norovirus.
After a critical diagnosis revealed a brain bleed due to an arteriovenous malformation (AVM), he received emergency care, including embolisation and surgery, following a delay to manage swelling.
His family, including parents Sam and Steph Gale and siblings Joshua and Bella, are participating in the RBC Race for the Kids in Hyde Park on October 11 to honor the hospital’s expertise and support.
They credit Gosh’s staff with saving Harrison’s life and express deep gratitude for the compassion and resources provided during their ordeal.
Harrison has since returned to a normal life and celebrated his 11th birthday on holiday.
