A 4,400-year-old Egyptian painting vanished from a Saqqara tomb, part of growing theft concerns.
A Pharaonic painting from Egypt’s Sixth Dynasty, depicting the ancient calendar’s three seasons, has disappeared from the tomb of Khentika in Saqqara, near Cairo, officials confirmed.
The artwork was reportedly missing during a May inspection by a British archaeological team.
The tomb, closed since 2019 and inscribed with a curse warning intruders, is part of the UNESCO-listed Saqqara necropolis.
