A train collision on October 5, 2025, in Kawasaki City suspended Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line service between Shibuya and Saginuma on October 6, after a moving train struck a stationary out-of-service train at Kajigaya Station.
The out-of-service train, operated by a trainee driver who stopped early due to a speed warning, partially derailed, but no injuries were reported among the 149 passengers.
The Japan Transport Safety Board launched an investigation into safety procedures during the trainee’s operation.
Service disruptions also affected the Oimachi Line and Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line.
